In a significant move, the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) of North America (NA) will transition to an eight-team league format starting in 2024. This decision was announced by Riot Games as part of its broader plans to reshape the LCS and strengthen the League of Legends esports ecosystem in North America.
The LCS, which has traditionally featured ten teams, will bid farewell to Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians in 2024. This decision was reportedly made in consultation with both teams and is intended to enhance the league's overall flexibility and pave the way for future success.
